As a full-figured woman, it’s been difficult for me to find a company that consistently puts us in mind when it comes to manufacturing undergarments. It’s particularly embarrassing to have to go to a specialty store just to find a bra or a cami.
Luckily, Barely There is the kind of company that does keep bigger women in mind when they make their wares. Not only are their bras comfortable, but they’re widely available in my size. I also enjoy the way I look in their shapewear. Clearly, Barely There is a company I can trust and you should, too!
The idea of wearing shapewear doesn’t really conjure up the feeling of comfort, particularly when compared to the examples of the past (girdles and corsets come to mind). But modern shapewear doesn’t quite have the lung constriction that older models have.
Modern shapewear is designed to maximize comfort and be worn daily for women who desire a certain physical aesthetic. The material in newer shapewear isn’t as restrictive and some women prefer them over bras and panties.
Though they may seem a bit out of place for your wardrobe, pant smoothers (such as these ones by Barely There) are necessary for having a streamlined effect on your person. Using these will provide you with a great amount of comfort, while simultaneously tucking in your tummy.
The smooth and tagless design goes unnoticed and avoids discomfort. If you’re finding that you need some comfortable shapewear to accompany your pants, go with these ones.
Barely There began in 1995 as an innovative new collection of panties that were completely seamless, showed no panty lines, and were unbelievably comfortable to wear. Through a unique knitting technology, Barely There panties used ultra soft microfiber yarn coupled with special “flat” stitching to deliver a product so smooth and so seamless that no other panty even came close.
In 2000, with the incredible success of its seamless panties, Barely There introduced a coordinating line of fashionable bras and shape wear to round out it’s wardrobe offering of intimate apparel.
In July 2004, Barely There made history with the introduction of tagfree bras and panties. Much like Hanes tagless T-shirts did for men, the tagfree bra gave women the perfect solution to the quest for all-day comfort and style.

I used to think that bras were the absolutely worst thing in the world, yet I went on wearing one because, as most people know, it prevents sagging, particularly as you age. But discomfort got the best of me and it resulted in me wearing a sports bra to have the support and comfort, but it was a bit embarrassing.
Then I did something that I hadn’t thought to do before: I went shopping and tried on different bras. As a creature of habit, I’m used to just buying the bras that I knew of, and never to take a minute and try them on. Eventually, I came across the Comfortable Curves Stretch Foam bra by Barely There. Initially, I had to get used to wearing a standard bra again, but after a week, I realized that it was probably the most comfortable bra that I’ve ever worn. Now I’m able to benefit from wearing a bra (i.e. avoid sagging) and not have to resort to wearing a bright blue sports bra under my regular clothes.
I generally have a difficult time finding a camisole that doesn’t drape around my frame like a tank top or look like a giant bra, thus making me feel like a sloppy-looking person. Then I stumbled upon Barely There camis, and they’re everything that I ever wanted in an undergarment.
Barely There’s camis are very comfortable and don’t harbor under illusion that all women are skinny twigs. They thrive off the notion that people come in different shapes. Now I can wear certain blouses without the aid of a t-shirt or a jacket to cover up my inability to find a camisole that suits me.
